It’s not Feel Good Friday or Bird Blogging Friday but this story is just too good not to share.

A women in Denver was babysitting a two year old and stepped into the bathroom. As luck would have it, the child picked that moment to take a larger than wise bite of her Pop-Tart. She began to choke. Fortunately for all concerned, Willie the Quaker Parrot was in the room. He began yelling “Mama Baby!” over and over. That brought the women out of the bathroom in time to see what was going on and perform the Heimlich maneuver on the child. The kid’s fine and all is well.Gives you a little more respect for the little guys, huh?

If you watch the video that goes with the story, I especially like that Willie wouldn’t say a word while the camera’s were there. Mine never talk when you want them to.

The talking heads have called the election for Mr. Obama. Winning a presidential election is no small thing and being the first black President is even larger. I have disagreed with his positions in a number of areas but he’s now my President and I’ll support him as best I can. I don’t promise that I’ll never disagree but I sincerely hope that we call put the insanity of the Clinton-Bush years behind us. Hopefully we can disagree without the need to call each other the ultimate evil.

Let’s make the next four years the best we can and move forward as Americans. To the rest of the world, I’m sorry for our every four year insanity.

And we all need to remember the animals had no voice here and billions of them are going to suffer and die no matter what we do in the election of 2008. And that’s the real tragedy here.
